All training services are provided by Philly Unleashed, headed by Nicole Larocco.

Whether you’ve got a polished purebred, or a mystery mutt, every dog and owner could
benefit from a bit of training!  From private lessons which focus intensely on behavior
modification programs to group classes that involve the whole family, we’re sure you’ll
find something that fits both your schedule and your needs.
Under the direction of Nicole Larocco, CPDT, this program has been designed  with
both the dog and owner in mind!  All training methods are based on positive
reinforcement, classical, and operant conditioning techniques which are safe, gentle,
and family friendly.  Best of all Nicole will show you how to integrate training into your
daily life, and make learning fun for both you and your dog!

Group Classes:

Have a good dog who just needs a bit of refinement and aren’t sure where to begin?
Then group classes are your answer!  In a relaxed and informal setting, you and your
canine companion will learn basic behavior lessons including how to sit, stay, come,
and walk on a loose leash with the distraction of other people and their dogs in the
room.  Group classes are ideal for first time dog owners who want to go through basic
training with their dogs; puppy owners who would like to make sure their pup gets off on
the right paw with socialization and manners; or owners who are looking to proof their
already trained dogs through distracting situations.  All dogs who attend group classes
must be friendly with people and other dogs.

Introduction to Agility:
Agility training is wonderful for any dog who needs to burn excess energy, build
confidence, or is just looking for something new to do!  This fun and interactive 6-week
course will introduce your dog to basic agility obstacles and concepts including;
tunnels, jumps, and contact obstacles (dog walk, table, etc. . . ).  In class, we will also
talk about obstacle sequencing and send-outs.  There will be many opportunities for
your dog to practice obstacles while in class.  Pre-requisite: Adult Basic obedience (or
comparable).  Dogs must have a good knowledge of basic commands especially stay
and recall.  Dogs should not be reactive to other dogs or people.

Cost: $160

Adult Basic:
The adult basic class is designed to teach adult or adolescent dogs foundation-level
obedience, including the commands sit, down, stay, come, leave-it, as well as polite
leash manners and greetings with people and other dogs. Problem solving and
troubleshooting for basic nuisance behaviors will be addressed as needed. Treats and
positive reinforcement techniques are used to teach good manners. This class is open
to all dogs over four months of age who are people and dog friendly.

Advanced Obedience:

in puppy kindergarten or adult basic classes and gives options to work towards
achieving off-leash control of our dogs.  In this class, we will touch on off-leash recalls
and heeling, stays while owners are out of the room and through heavy distraction, and
much more.  In this class we will also work toward Canine Good Citizen certification
with an option to test for Canine Good Citizen on the final week.

terrorist?   Is your shih tzu a. . .ok, we won’t go there!  Maybe you need a private lesson
or two!  Private lessons are a great way to intensely focus on specific behavior
problems, enhance results with a stubborn dog, or supplement the training that you are
doing with your dog in classes or during home training sessions.  Private lessons are
entirely customizable to your needs, personality, and the dog/handler team’s working
style.  Through private lessons we can work on just about any behavior including:

working or running errands, leave your dog in daycare and Nicole will work with your
dog for you.  Just let us know what your dog needs to work on and we will take care of
it!   A 30-minute intensive training session will focus on specific commands as
designated by you.  After every session, you will receive a report of what we did during
the session and how you can integrate practice sessions into your daily life in order to
reinforce training.
